अलसस्य कुतो विद्या अविद्यस्य कुतो धनम्

अलसस्य कुतो विद्या अविद्यस्य कुतो धनम्।

अधनस्य कुतो मित्रम् अमित्रस्य कुतो सुखम्॥

आलसी के लिए विद्या कहाँ,  विद्याहीन के लिए धन कहाँ,  

निर्धन के मित्र कहाँ और बिना मित्रों के सुख कहाँ॥

A lazy cannot acquire knowledge. Without knowledge

wealth cannot be had. Without wealth, you cannot 

get friends and without friends there is no happiness.
